Did you know Cycling UK has lots of projects that help people discover the joys of cycling, at the same time improving their mental health? One great example is Cycle 4 Health, which offers free cycle training at the Fieldhead Mental Health Hospital in Wakefield.
Jacqueline Sharp, who works at the hospital, explains more: “Cycle training has become a popular part of patient’s recovery at the Fieldhead Mental Health Hospital. I ride alongside patients every week, getting back on my bike for the first time since I was a teenager! Cycle 4 Health has been an excellent opportunity for us to get out and experience healthy exercise in a social group, outdoors in natural surroundings. The opportunity of being out and active away from the ward and the hospital environment is a big benefit.” You can read more about this fantastic programme on Cycling UK’s website.
