BIKE WEEK EVENT 2018
What?
A 24 mile ride Round the Hogs BackĀ organised as a 2018 Bike Week event

When?
9.30 am Sunday 10th June 2018

Where?
Start, from Guildford Borough Council Offices, Millmead, Guildford.

Details:
The aim of the ride is to explore unfamiliar parts of the area west of Guildford using quiet rural roads and off-road cycle paths, including the Shalford Park to Peasmarsh cycle path, the Christmas Pie cycle route and a section of the upgraded River Wey towpath back into Guildford.

The ride will be led at a gentle pace and will be suitable for novices.

About six miles of the route will use tracks or bridleways, some of which are stony or have uneven surfaces. All-terrain (Mountain) bikes will be ideal but a conventional touring bike will be fine.

There will be a coffee stop at the Puttenham Camping Barn.

The ride will return to Guildford by early to mid afternoon with a optional finish at a pub for lunch.

Martin Taplin, who will lead the ride, says:-

The aim of the ride is to explore unfamiliar parts of the area to the west of Guildford using quiet rural roads and off-road cycle paths and to encourage people, including youngsters, who may be uncertain about going off on their own out into the countryside. The ride will be led at a gentle pace. The route is not hilly. If you feel you can cycle 24 miles on a bike, this ride will be OK for you.

For further details or questions please telephone Martin Taplin on 01483 504926.
